Sadie Sadie Pretty Lady

Sadie Sadie Pretty Lady Won't You Be My Baby - is her official name! I got Sadie from my grandma and grandpa Nielsen when I was about 10 years old. She was the runt of the litter and weighed about 2 ounces when she was born. She was so small she had to be tube fed every feeding. Sadie slept in my bed from the day I brought her home until I left for college.

During my 2nd year in nursing school my mom babysat Courtney almost everyday. Sadie LOVED Courtney!!! When Court would take a nap, she would wait outside her door. When she would wake up Sadie would go and find my mom to let her know. Sadie loved my kids! When I first got Sadie I never imagined she would be around to play with my kids!
Sadie lived almost 18 long years! By the end she was deaf, blind and could hardly walk some days. We put her to sleep last Thursday. It was so hard to do - but we thought it was the right thing to do! I miss you Sadie - I love you!

Halloween Cookies :)

Sunday night we made and decorated Halloween cookies at my mom's house. We made lots of ghosts and pumpkins! I love this time of year with all the beautiful colors in the mountains and the cool breeze. I just wish it could go from Fall to Spring - I'm not looking forward to driving in the snow!

If you notice Courtney is wearing the Patriots jersey. Brenda is a huge Patriots fan and Brent is a huge Cowboy fan. Well if anyone follows football, you'll know that the Patriots played the Cowboys Sunday night. It was so funny - they've only been married 2 weeks - and they were trash talking each others team the whole game! It was hilarious! Everyone was cheering for the Patriots - except Brent, so Jake started cheering for the Cowboys so Brent wouldn't feel so bad! Sorry Brent - the Patriots smoked the Cowboys! I hope Brenda bet something good on the game!

Need I say more:Porter's parents, his sister Anne and her husband Kayde came to our house for conference weekend. Cynde bought the kids some magnifying glasses to look at salt crystals - but that's not what they were using them for. I don't know who's idea it was to teach Jake how to burn stuff - but he was trying to burn everything!!! He's a little pyro! Needless to say - I hid the magnifying glasses when they were done!

Brent and Brenda got married yesterday on October 2nd! It was a wonderful day in so many ways. The weather was perfect - sunny and about 68 degrees, Brenda looked absolutely gorgeous, everything went very smoothly - no surprises or disasters, many friends and family members came from all over the country, my kids looked so darling (yes, that is very important), the temple ceremony was inspiring (Earl Jackson who married Porter and I happened to marry them too), and mostly they were so happy and in love!!! The whole day was so much fun!!! They got married at 1 in the afternoon and had a big wedding dinner after! I think this wedding was the funnest one I have ever been to! The dinner was delicious, they had a fun wedding video, everyone who spoke did an excellent job, Courtney and Jake got up and recited the wedding lines from The Princess Bride - which was awesome, and the highlight was probably dancing afterwards! Congrats to Brent and Brenda!!! We love you!
